Our Estimate | EST1 form is what you’d use to give clients a heads-up on how much a job or service might cost. It’s designed to get all the important details down in writing right from the start.First off, it’s got space to jot down all the client’s contact info then comes the really important part: figuring out the costs. There’s a table to list out all the materials you’ll need, how much they cost, and the total amount for each. If there’s labor involved, you can break that down by the hours, the rate, and the total labor cost. And if there are any other expenses, there’s a spot for those as well. To wrap it all up, the form adds up all those costs – the materials, the labor, and anything else – to give you a subtotal. Then it throws in any taxes, like GST, to get to the final estimate total.Of course, it’s super important to be clear with the client that this is just an estimate, not a guarantee, since things can sometimes change. The form has some terms and conditions that explain this, and it also says that the client will be told about any changes to the cost, how long they have to pay, and how long the estimate itself is good for. And finally, there’s a line for the client to sign, just to show they’ve seen and understood everything.
